Ilocos: Laoag (04.07.13 - 04.08.13)

Day 2 of our Ilocos adventure, from Vigan we drove to Laoag for almost 2 hours. We first went to Batac, to see the Marcos Museum and Mausoleum.

The only photo I have in Batac, it was almost 4PM and we were in a rush, the Museum was already closed and taking photos was not allowed inside the Mausoleum.

Paoay Church

I was looking forward to see another UNESCO World Heritage, Paoay Church. From Batac, it was a 10 minute drive to this scenic church.

Yay! Another UNESCO World Heritage site off my list, the Paoay Church part of the Baroque Churches of the Philippines, I've already seen the Miag-ao Church in Iloilo and the San Agustin Church in Manila. One more church and i'm done! :)

MalacaƱang of the North & Paoay Lake

This used to be the official residence of the former President Ferdinand Marcos, overlooking the Paoay Lake and now turned into a museum, entrance fee of 20 pesos for adults.

Fort Ilocandia

Since we were in the area already, we decided to pass by the Fort Ilocandia Resort and Casino.

After a day in the road, we headed to La Preciosa for dinner, while waiting for our orders, we tried their chocolate cake, mocha sansrival and carrot cake - best seller!

The next morning we were en route to Pagudpud our last stop, before we left the city of Laoag we passed by the sinking bell tower and Church of Laoag.

Another day, another Unesco World Heritage site off my list. Next stop, Pagudpud.
